Partnering with BAFTA, EE sought to discover the next big star. The “The Stage is Yours” competition invited participants to creatively respond to a video by Michael Ward, known for his role as the villain Marco in “Blue Story.”

Using TikTok’s stitch feature, contestants showcased their best villain portrayals, inspired by Ward’s expertise.

Getting the Stars involved

To keep the momentum going, we repurposed content from previous shoots for LearnSmart. This allowed us to continuously refresh EE’s social channels, ensuring a steady flow of engagement and increasing awareness for the competition.

At the BAFTAs

We then couldn’t let the opportunity pass us by, to get the stars on the Red Carpet to submit their own entries straight from the BAFTA red carpet. Famous faces like Richard E. Grant and Ali Plumb do their best Joker impression and ‘The Woman King’ stars Lashana Lynch and Sheila Atim give their own shivering villain performances.

Final push for entries.

As the competition deadline approached, we released a pre-recorded video of Michael Ward calling for last entries. We then amplified the message by stitching together some of the standout performances, creating a final buzz.

The campaign was a resounding success, driving significant engagement across several of EE’s social channels. The winner, Austin Butler, will have a speaking role in the Film Naz which is planned to be shot late 2025.
